SEC Research Project

- This was a research project that I worked on for 2 years and entered into several compeititons. Design and development completely independent. Highlights skills in C/C++ coding and development, also highlights ability to research and design a project from top to bottom and utilizes many engineering methods.
- Several items provided with project, all contained in the “SEC Research Project” RAR File. A research paper, which was done prior to coding and work on the project. A powerpoint file that highlights the development, how it works, results and applications for the project. I was invited to present this to an audience at the Kennedy Space Center as part of the 41st Space Congress event. The final part contains the actual program and source code behind the project.
- To run the program, simply open the SEC Final folder and run GP.exe. It is a command prompt based program. Basically the program is designed to use the idea of “Genetic Programming” to create programs completely by itself (in a sort of AI fashion) that solve a particular problem presented by the user. I had it solve problems such as coming up with the formula for pytagorean theorem, max/min functions and also a full 4 function calculator. You can watch the program in action by performing the following steps:
Type “2″ to select a problem
Select a problem such as pytagorean or average.
Type “1″ to set that problem as default.
Type “0″ twice to back out to the main menu.
Type “3″ to run the program
- It will now run through the operations trying to come up a with a program that can perform what you wanted. After running for a while it will find a solution, save it, compile it, and allow you to run it.
Mind Assistant Project

- This was a project I worked on for 2 years as well. It is based on neural network and the hierarchy of thoughts based upon how the brain acts. It is a graphical interface rather than command prompt. I entered it in to several research competitions as well. A few required dll files have been provided to run it. Just run the “Mind Assistant” executable to see it.
- You are able to click on “thoughts” (the little boxes) and move around within the thought tree. You can also create new thoughts, edit them, add notes, and a lot more features.
Car Sim

- This project involves using several techniques to find the shortest route (path-finding). It is applied to cars and pathfinding on roads. Just run the exe and watch.
Fire Sim

- This project involved using cellular automata to predict the path of forest fires in different situations. It takes into account several factors of height, wind, humidity and material to be burned. It was programmed into an algorithm and in this particular version I based it on an actual fire that happened and was throughly documented. The fire simulator was fairly accurate in predicting the path of the fire when compared to the actual fire that occured. Simply run the exe and be sure to read the readme to learn what buttons to press.
Marketing/Management Related:
Mountain Dew Brand Rep
- I worked for 2 semesters as a Mountain Dew Brand Rep on campus at UF. I set up contacts with university facility and other organizations to sponsor events with them to promote the Mountain Dew Brand. I was handed down goals and given promotional items. It was my job to set up all the unique events and promote the brand best I could on my campus. I have included pictures of the work I have done for it, as well as some progress report documents. I was rated 4th overall in terms of best promoting the brand out of a total of 50 schools that were also doing the program.
Network Promotions Assisstant Manager:
- I worked as a manager for a startup promotion company in the Gainesville downtown area. We serviced several bars/clubs. Responsible for coordinating efforts of promoters and gauging performance. Managed the front door for each of the nights to deal with people coming through and to handle any situations. Provided a lot of skills in dealing with people, managing a team and understanding principles of marketing.
